Latisha Latiker
SRBWI Program Officer

 

Latisha Latiker is the Regional Program Officer for the Children’s Defense Fund’s Southern Regional Office (CDF-SRO). At CDF-SRO, she works on advocacy initiatives that address the needs of children and families, paying particular interests to families living in poverty. Latisha conducts advocacy work in several states across the Deep South. She serves as the Regional Program Officer for the Southern Rural Black Women’s Initiative (SRBWI). SRBWI works at eradicating historical race, class, cultural, religious and gender barriers experienced by southern rural black women in the Delta region of Mississippi and the Black Belt regions of Alabama and Georgia. Before joining the Children’s Defense Fund, Latisha worked as a Political Science Instructor at Oklahoma State University where she received a B.A. and M.A. in Political Science with an emphasis in public law and public administration. While at Oklahoma State, she received numerous awards and honors including the Thurgood Marshall scholarship for outstanding graduate students.
