CDF-SRO provides leadership training and sponsors trips to educate youth about a variety of cultural and social issues. On May 5, 2011 CDF-SRO took 100 students from Gentry High School in Indianola on a tour of the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute and the 16^th Street Baptist Church in Birmingham, Alabama. The students marked the 47^th anniversary of the Birmingham Children’s March, which took place on May 2, 1963. In preparation for these visits, the students watched the movies, Four Little Girls and The Birmingham Children’s March. They met Minister Carolyn McKinstry, Board Member of 16^th Street Baptist Church.
